Dreams

It's one of the most common questions, 'What are you going to dream about?'.
Let's be clear, we know the likelihood of you having dreams is slim.
However, we're hopefuls who /want/ you to dream.
We /want/ you to go on adventures and do crazy things while we look after you fixing whatever is wrong.

Sometimes we try to plant dreams, working with you to try to build some wild adventure.
This was a story of one of those days.

What are you going to dream about?
"Unicorns"
About being a unicorn, about meeting a unicorn, about riding a unicorn?
"Riding. We're going to stand on a rainbow and live on the colour purple."
That sounds like a nice colour, may I come visit you there?
"Well, you can come stay on yellow, not purple. I'll wave to you."
That's very kind, what do you eat while you live on Yellow?
"Lobsters."



What are you going to dream about?
"I don't know."
Ok, would you like to make a dream? I see you brought your dinosaurs.
"I could be a dinosaur"
That sounds like fun! What kind of dinosaur would you be?
"An orange one"
Would you have two legs or four?
"Four"
Would you eat plants or meat?
"Meat"
Wow, you sound like a fierce dinosaur. I wouldn't want to get too close to a meat eating dinosaur with four legs!
"I'd only eat you a little bit."
A little bit? That's kind
"I'd throw you up again after."



What are you going to dream about?
"I don't dream"
Don't dream here at hospital or ever?
"Ever"
Oh I see
"I had a dream once. The man told me to sit on Mummy's pillow until she fell asleep because she was moving too much."
...Was Mummy under the pillow?
"Yes. He told me it would help her fall asleep. When I told mummy she said maybe I shouldn't dream any more, so I don't."
Right, well we're going to take really good care of you, it's time to go to sleep now.
"The man says he'll take good care of /you/ too."

*Cue awkward silence, a quick glance around the room and a little shudder.*
